| Nicola Campitelli graduated at the Conservatory of Music “ L. D’ Annunzio” (Pescara, Italy) and after he obtained the Master of Music awarding full marks with highest honors. He continued his studies with M. Marasco, C. Bruneel, and A. Persichilli, in the “Italian Flute Academy” (Rome) where he gained the “Première Prix”. Key to his training for flute and music is the encounter with Giampaolo Pretto with whom he cooperated in 2011 as co-Professor at the advanced course in Portogruaro (Italy). He won many competitions as “ Young Flutist Talent” held by the Rotary Club, “Scholarships S. Gazzelloni” and chamber music Competitions as “ G. Rospigliosi” (overall winner) and “Città di Grosseto” (overall winner). He has been selected in the Italian Youth Orchesra (OGI) as Principal flute. He played with many orchestras including: Spiramirabilis, Orchestra Regionale Toscana, I Solisti di Pavia, Young Janacek Philarmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese, I Solisti Aquilani, Orchestra del Teatro Lirico Sperimentale di Spoleto, performing in many of the most prestigious concert halls of the world, conducted by, among the others, D. Gatti, G. G. Rath, C. M. Giulini, C. Abbado, Y. Ahronovitch, Z. Metha, E. Krivine, G. Noseda, A. Nanut, O. Maga, G. Ferro, U. Benedetti Michelangeli. Until 2009 he was Principal Flute Soloist in the Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma. In 2008 he played as soloist with the same orchestra the J. Ibert Flute Concerto, conducted by Patrick Gallois. From 2010 he is the woodwind and brass tutor of the Orchestra Giovanile di Roma. He is regularly invited as Professor to teach in advanced courses in many and prestigous Academies. |
